Christmas is finally here — and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably looking for cute, easy ways to keep the kids entertained while you enjoy a little holiday magic (and maybe a cup of hot chocolate… or two ☕✨).
Coloring is honestly one of my favorite activities to share with little ones during this season. It’s relaxing, screen-free, and the perfect way to sprinkle a bit of creativity into their day. So today, I wanted to share my favorite Christmas coloring activities for kids, plus a free printable you can download at the end. 🎁
1. Christmas Characters Coloring Pages
Kids love familiar characters during the holidays — Santa, gingerbread men, cute winter animals, Christmas trees… all of it.
These pages are usually simple, cozy, and super fun for kids of all ages. If you want something adorable and festive, this is always a great place to start.
Tip: pair the coloring page with a little story or fun fact. Kids love that extra touch!
Note: We have a Christmas-themed coloring book called Christmas Wonderland, available on Amazon.
2. “Color & Count” Holiday Worksheets
This one is both fun and secretly educational (but don’t tell the kids 😆).
They color little Christmas objects and count how many they find — ornaments, candy canes, stars, presents, etc.
It keeps them busy and helps with number recognition and attention to detail. Win–win.
3. Christmas Mandalas for Kids
If you have kids who like to take their time or are naturally very focused, mandalas are perfect.
Christmas versions usually include snowflakes, ornaments, bells, and geometric patterns that are soothing to color.
It’s surprisingly calming — even for adults. (Yes, I always end up coloring one too.)
4. “Decorate the Tree” Coloring Activity
This one is adorable!
Kids color a blank Christmas tree, then color ornaments separately, cut them out, and “decorate” the tree however they want.
It’s like a mini craft project, but super easy to set up.
Pro tip: print it on slightly thicker paper so the ornaments hold up better.
5. Free Christmas Coloring Printable (Gift for You!)
As promised — here’s a little gift from me to you:
a free Christmas coloring page your kids can print and enjoy anytime during the season. 🎄✨
I hope your little ones love it as much as I loved creating it. If you end up using it, feel free to tag us (@littlesparkscreations) on Instagram and/or Tiktok — I love seeing your creations!
The holidays can get hectic, but simple activities like coloring help slow everything down. They give kids space to create, relax, and enjoy the season… and honestly, I think that’s what this time of year is all about.
If you want more Christmas coloring pages, printable activities, or creative ideas, feel free to stick around — I have a bunch of fun things coming soon. 💖
Happy coloring & happy holidays! 🎅💛
